Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, we tend to people’s basic needs, especially the need for food. We also strive to stimulate minds, nourish spirits, and address root causes of social injustice.

Fernside, established in 1986, as the nation’s second oldest children’s grief center, remains today a national leader in providing grief support services and outreach and education to the community and families. An affiliate of Hospice of Cincinnati, Fernside services compliment Hospice of Cincinnati’s comprehensive bereavement program by addressing the unique needs of children.

Our mission is to unleash the potential of the human spirit. Through transformative experiences, tools and inspiration, we help people embark on a quest to contribute their absolute best to the world. In the process, we foster a community of curious, brave and collaborative explorers who are determined to live the No Barriers Life.

The recipient of the Dakota Pequeno Memorial Scholarship will be a student who has shown perseverance in eliminating obstacles that epilepsy and seizures may present, courage in dealing with epilepsy/seizures, community involvement, and commitment to their education. The Phoenix Group is proud to join team members Craig and Kelly Jankowski in providing two scholarships in memory of Kelly’s daughter, Dakota Pequeno.
